Life and Teachings
Born in Talwandi (now Nankana Sahib), Guru Nanak Dev Ji traveled the world on four great journeys called Udasis — east to Bengal, north to Himalayas, west to Mecca, south to Sri Lanka. He sang Naam, called all people equal, and laid the foundation of Sikhi: Naam Japo (remember the Divine), Kirat Karo (work honestly), Vand Chhako (share with others). He spent his last 18 years at Kartarpur cultivating the first Sikh community.
